So… Cheryl and I have talked about starting a blog for quite some time now. We enjoy reading the blogs of family and friends and wanted to join the fun. I guess I just needed a catalyst. I’ve noticed that on other blogs, it’s generally a big life event that motiviates people to start their blog, i.e. an engagement or marriage, the birth of a child, or even the passing of a family pet.
Well, the same is true for us, as we experienced something recently that we’ve been anticipating for a long time…
Our '95 Honda Accord (the 1st and only car I’ve ever owned) turned over 200,000 miles!
In the spirit of what the boys and I would do in high school for an event like this, we had a celebration. There was one major difference: we don’t have a Macey’s grocery store up here so we couldn’t get Kong Kones. So we decided to go to the newly renovated Southcenter Mall and get a big cup of self-serve frozen yogurt from Tutti Frutti.
And behold, the triumphant owner!!
Unfortunately, the Tutti Frutti frozen yogurt took its toll on our attempt at action pictures:
Oh yes, and in other news… WE ARE EXPECTING (a little girl, we found out yesterday)!!! The due date is January 7th. We found out about the pregnancy on Mother’s Day weekend, and had the first ultrasound on June 5th, which was also the last day of seminary. We were in Utah on Memorial Day weekend for Julie’s wedding, and it was hard to keep the news to ourselves.
It was so fun to see the ultrasound images.
We had a good laugh when the first image we saw was of our baby perching her arm above her body, apparently taking after her dad, (I do that in my sleep, sometimes for hours on end).
After we learned we are having a little girl, we celebrated by going to the baby store and buying a cute little outfit.
We are so grateful that the Lord has answered our prayers and the prayers of family and friends. More to come...

A GIRL!!!! Congratulations, we are so excited for you guys. And that outfit is just darling, girls are fun when it comes to clothing! Now we need to plan a shower for you when you are up for Brian's wedding in October. :)
