The Toddler Comb Over

Ava's hair is thick, shiny, and curly. It's gorgeous! and sadly the only common characteric between my hair and hers is the color. A couple weeks ago I woke up early so I could curl my hair before church, then Ava woke up in her mess of curls. Eric made the comment, "Hey your hair looks the same, only you've been working all morning and Ava just rolls out of bed."

This was after and entire day in chlorine water, still looks perfect!

It's been hard for me to actually do something with her hair because:
1. I'm pretty inept when it comes to fixing hair (I don't think I realised I needed to brush my own hair until I was in high school).
2. Ava doesn't like holding still especially when it means the occasional hair pull.

However, I've finally figured out a few ways to get her to hold still long enough for me to braid her hair into pigtails. I'm getting pretty good at it. The last time I braided her beautiful long tresses Eric kept saying "take her picture, she looks so cute!"

But I figured I'd get her picture soon enough.

Then she wanted a bath so I cut the elastics out of her hair and left the scissors on the bathroom counter so I could help her and the baby in and out of the tub.

That night I ran my fingers through her hair and noticed a lot less of it.

I also found this in the bathroom.

I feel awful because I was the one who left the scissors out

I am the one who cuts elastics out of her hair every day.

I suppose it could've been worse and she could've cut off more hair or hurt herself.

But I am so sad that I never got a picture of those cute braids and now we have to resort to the Toddler Comb Over

A comb over combined with a nice clip and you barely notice

That is the worst when you realize they have cut their hair. All of mine have done it so it is not your fault. Just part of growing up.
