Growing Up

The comment I hear most often about my girls is "Wow they are getting so big"

Even baby Mae is looking less baby everyday.

She often prefers walking along furniture now to scooting on her bum.

Ava no longer says things like  "Acipot" for apricot and "lellow" for yellow.

for the sake of preserving a few of the cute things they do right now this is a little bit about our girls:

Ava is very helpful. She likes to throw away diapers,  feed Maryanne, and fold laundry (mostly hand towels at this point).  She likes to get dirty: if there is a puddle, lose dirt, or anything gooey she is playing in it.

She also loves animals. Sometimes we find little worms on the sidewalk and she likes to hold them and give them names like "Squirmy" I found it odd however that the last time she did this it grossed out all the boys in our neighborhood.
A male dominated neighborhood

Ava says a lot of things that make me laugh here are a few examples:

"When you eat food it goes into your tummy and if you are a boy it turns blue if you are a girl it turns pink."

"Mommy don't let the trucks take our garbage!...but will they give us new garbage?"

"Mom next time you have a baby you should have a boy baby and my teddy bear will like him."

Maryanne is a sweet little cherub.(Except when she gets close to the baby wipes). She is becoming very playful. Her favorite games are: falling onto big piles of pillows, and messing with Ava's perfectly placed items so that Ava will screetch in Mae's face and Mae can screetch back. Also a game we call baby chase- where we hide just out of Mae's view and then she scoots on her bum until she finds us, then we all get really excited.

Maryanne is also starting to communicate. She uses a lot of sign language words like: food, more, and milk. She is also saying a few spoken words too. She loves it when Dad comes home and usually greets him with lots of waving arms and "Hi Dada...Hi Dada"

She will turn one next month but her eyes haven't really changed. They are still the grey color most babies are born with. I'm pretty sure they will turn brown because Ava was the same way. Her eyes weren't really brown until she was almost two.

At our most recent visits to the doctor Maryanne's growth comparisons were as follows:
Height: 50%
Weight: 50%
Head Circ: 50%

They only confirm to me what I already knew; she is practically perfect in every way.

And for your enjoyment a few random cute pictures.
